Meet Aleena
Rooted in relationships. Guided by insight. Committed to your growth.
Healthy relationships are the foundation of emotional well-being. Whether you're seeking couples therapy to strengthen your relationship, navigating divorce or co-parenting, struggling with family conflict, or working through anxiety, trauma, addiction, or life transitions, therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely understood while also being challenged to grow.
Aleena specializes in couples counseling, family therapy, individual therapy, and adolescent therapy. Her clinical work focuses on relationship conflict, communication difficulties, trauma, anxiety, addiction, parenting, identity development, and major life transitions. Since 2022, she has worked extensively in addiction counseling , facilitating Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups and serving as a counselor for juvenile drug courts in Emmet and Charlevoix Counties. She holds the Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor – Development Plan (CAADC-DP) credential and has advanced training in the Gottman Method, an evidence-based approach to helping couples strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection. Aleena also brings specialized training and experience in eating disorders and body image, supporting clients navigating disordered eating, recovery, and the complex relationship between identity and self-perception.
Prior to founding Lemon Tree Therapy, Aleena gained experience at a private practice in Birmingham, MI, working with a high-net-worth clientele, an environment that deepened her ability to provide sophisticated, discreet, and highly individualized care. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and thoughtfully direct. Grounded in psychodynamic theory, lasting change comes from understanding the deeper patterns that shape how we relate to ourselves and the people we love. Together, you will explore the experiences, attachment patterns, and relational dynamics contributing to distress, developing greater insight, emotional awareness, and healthier ways of navigating life's challenges.
Education & Credentials
My clinical work is grounded in graduate-level training, evidence-based practice, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Central Michigan University and am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) in the State of Michigan.
Whether I am working with individuals, couples, adolescents, or families, I integrate research-supported interventions with a psychodynamic understanding of how early relationships and life experiences continue to influence emotional well-being today.
